When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
  • Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
  • Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description, special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
  • Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
  • Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors. Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.

Not everyone is a candidate for laser therapy in order to treat severe gum disease.

It is best you come in for a consultation. Consults are FREE and are a great way to meet with the doctor as well as address any concerns that you may have-

Although there are many more conservative ways to treat gum disease today- your options will really depend on the severity of the infection presently there.

To schedule your appt pl call us at 212-752-1163.

Good afternoon,

Every office will expect varied types of radiographs. An X-ray called a panorex is usually the norm along with some intra-oral films.

If you need another opinion or a consult feel free to call my office and let my receptionist know we spoke on here.

For Periodontal conditions, by far the best, most diagnostic xrays are periapicals- NOT a Panoramic. A series of 14 -18 films showing 2-3 teeth at a time are the best.

As far as treatment- surgical, non surgical and /or laser treatment are options and preferences of the doctor.

If you have a lot of deposits on your roots(tartar, calculus, debris on your teeth)- laser therapy alone, will not be enough.

We are not specialists in Periodontics, but we treat many moderate to severe cases.

We offer FREE in office consultations for Dr Oogle patients.

Dear patient,

Conventional therapy and laser theapy have yeilded pretty similar results, but laser therapy usually costs more. Your recovery time should be about a week of gum soreness but this should not prevent you from working or resuming normal activities. We usually do one quadrant of surgery per visit, with a two week time span in between quadrants. A full mouth of x-rays are preferred for proper diagnosis. Please call my office for a consultation and I will be happy to explain your treatment options to you.

Good luck.
