Case Description
Hi-I'm an American living in London and have 4 teeth that need replacement, also a front bridge that needs to be replaced (a gap is occurring) and about three crowns. I'll be in NY next month and would like to have my teeth overhauled while there-the English dentists provide very low-quality care (they won't even let you order a set of your x-rays!) and work very slowly, (and their facilities are never clean enough...) Is it possible to have this done in a month in New York? I'd also prefer to work with a doctor with an onsite lab, as I've heard this may help reduce costs. Any ballpark figures regarding the price? Thanks!

When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description,
special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more
reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors.
Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.

Yes it is possible to have all the work done in a month''''s time. Cost of a crown in my practice including the provisonal is approxiamtely $ 2950. I am a ADA recongnised specialist ie. Maxillofacial Prosthodontist. thus the fees are higher than some of the General Dentists. Let me know how i could help you. Thanks much.YK

It is possible to coordinate a lot of treatment in that period of time. I have treated out of town patients before. You need to be available during weekday daytime hours, and be willing to sit for fairly long appointments--2-3+ hours, are sometimes necessary. I can turn around lab work in 1 - 2 weeks.(sometimes quicker.)As far as costs,, it is difficult until I actually see you and evaluate your mouth and xrays. A 3 unit bridge would cost about $2600.Call us to set up a FREE consult for the first days you arrive in NYDr Gochman718 359-3555

Without a proper examination, it is impossible to access how long your treatment might take and what other circumstances present themselves. For example, periodontal health. Sure you could replace a bridge in a month. You can do it in a week. But when you go back to England, you will have to live with the consequences. If something doesn''''t fit my patient perfectly, it is not delivered to the patient. And any problems you may encounter due to rushing would have to be dealt with there. I would not put a particular time limit on a health issue.

Dear American in London:I am a trained Surgically trained Prosthodontist-the specialist in restorative, cosmetic, and implant dentistry. I treat patients like you on a routine basis. I actually have several patients, who like you, live in London and travel to the US to get their dental care. I do have a laboratory on site, and I use several laboratories in the USA, which can deliver the highest qualitiy work, in a very rapid manner. The costs are about $2000 per tooth. If multiple teeth are involved, special provisional restorations (temporaries) are required, they are $400 per tooth in addition to the cost of the crown. Depending on the size of the case, certain minor rush fees will apply. I can easily complete the work in one month. All we need is proper planning, and as I said, this is routine for my office. Also, you will find my office to your liking. It is one of the most high tech, and cleanest offices you have ever seen... (my staff is great). Please call on Monday after 9AM NYC time, and I will speak to you myself to make arrangements.Best wishes for safe travel...

Discussing the Finances and Timely ranges sounds to be the most important issue to you. If you assume the rest (like each dentist is the same in his knowledge & skills ) than the only difference between them is Finances and Speed. How can you jeopardize your own Health by making such dangerous assumption not benefiting you? How can anybody make decisions over the phone or internet and than blaming anybody for the outcome.I would allow you 15 min of a free phone consult Just to getter some more Health information from you before you proceed with spending time and evaluating you in the office. Please call.Good luck with your decision.
