Case Description
I've been researching my option of oral surgery and invisalign. I don't like my profile and I have over bite. I think it depends on how much change I want but because I can't imagine what i can expect, it's hard to decide. I understand I need to go for consultations and talk to many Dr.s but I don't know where to go! Cosmetic dentists won't do surgery, dentist won't do surgery, plastic surgeon won't do orthodontics...? I would appreciate if anyone can give me direction where I should go.

When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description,
special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more
reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors.
Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.

The first thing to do is to discuss your concerns with your general dentist if you have one. From there, he or she can consult with you and specialists that he / she works with on a regular basis. What I would want is to be in constant communication with my "team" in which you are a major voice and most important part of that team. The team all has to have not only the same goals in mind, but the same approach, and deal with any complications which may arise in order to give the patient, you, the best possible outcome. That is not only what I advise my patients, but how I prefer to work. You should never be pressured into accepting a treatment plan. It''''s the most gratifying way for multi-discipline approaches in my experience.

Dear Patient:If you don''''t like your profile and have an overbite, you probably need to either see just an Orthodontist or an Orthodontist and an Oral Surgeon. If it is going to be determined that you need surgery in combination with braces, you would still need to have braces prior to jaw surgery. The best thing to do is to have a consultation with an Orthodontist who will be able to tell you if your problem can be corrected with just braces or if it requires surgery, and can recommend a surgeon to talk to. If you would like to come in for a free consultation, please see our contact information below. We offer invisible braces, Invisalign and specialize in adult treatment.Regards,Upper Eastside Orthodontists153 East 87th Street, Suite #1B212-360-0835office@ueso.org

It is extreamly difficicult to give advice without seeing both the patient and the x rays. In our office we do oral surgery and invisalign "clear braces". With invisalign we can order a clincheck , which is a computer animation of what your case will look like after the treatment. We also accept most dental insurances. Call the office for a consult.
