Unfortunately over the years of having bad dentists, I have develop mistrust and caution to all dentists until I met Dr. Kaufman. I was referred to Dr Kaufman after seeing other specialist who were not able to help. Not only did he help with bridge that after seven years is still good, he also showed compassion. He is a brilliant doctor with amazing skills but more importantly he is a caring person with a great heart. He makes the dreaded dental appointments , enjoyable and comfortable. Recently faced with several problems, I turned to him for help. He has done a good job fixing my problems one at a time and holding my hand in the process. I think his skill set are cutting edge and his sincere approach is very much appreciated. His staff is terrific and caring as well. The one thing I would like to mention is that I am so relieved that I finally found the dentist that I can have complete confidence and trust in. And that when my mom developed a serious problem I insisted without any doubt that she would only be treated by Dr. Kaufman; for which she is extremely grateful by the way!! Now when I go to see other specialists I rate them based on my experience with Dr. Kaufman. I think that speaks for itself

I have been with Dr. Kaufman since 2002, the year that I was struck with an aluminum baseball bat that rendered the nerves in two of my front teeth dead. Dr. Kaufman along with a colleague performed two root canals, which have preserved my dead teeth for an incredible 7 years!

Recently the tooth discoloration and damage done to my teeth started to bother me. I decided to approach Dr. Kaufman to see what could be done and scheduled a consultation. During that first appointment with Dr. Kaufman I realized he was much more than a dentist. Dr. Kaufman is like a tooth scientist! He explained my situation and options to me with incredible detail and helped me decide on one that I was comfortable with. Dr. Kaufman's approach is unlike any other I have seen with any doctor, truly remarkable.

Initially we decided on two crown caps on the two dead teeth and an additional two veneers on the opposite healthy teeth to maintain aesthetic perfection, however after more discussion we decided to try just two crown caps at first to see if it would work and only then decide on the additional two veneers. What do you know, it worked! That decision to approach the situation with caution saved me thousands and two healthy teeth as well! Beautiful!

About Hygienist: There is so much more I can say about Dr. Kaufmans approach, quality of work, and long term financial savings, this review form is simply not long enough. I have brought Dr. Kaufman my own grandmother to work on, so I wholeheartedly recommend his services to anyone who truly cares about their teeth.

Dr. Kaufman cleaned my teeth with the jet polisher and they look amazing! He did a fantastic job cleaning them and I truly appreciate his dedication to his patients; I am definitely a fan.

Although I have had this procedure done before, the outcome was not as fantastic as this; it was worth every penny!

My 25 yr old implant broke off. The crown and screw completely sheared off. No implant doctor in Houston or anywhere could fix it without starting over for $6K. Not only did he identify the implant, but he had the 25 yr old parts and with the expertise of a heart surgeon he was able to repair the broken implant. His care and knowledge was extraordinary that I have never seen with any Dr. His technical knowledge was exceptional and he was as pesonable as can be. I felt very comfortable and cannot express how happy I was with his service. No matter what my issue is with my teeth, I will use him as my dentist and as a valuable source for knowledgein the future. It doesn't get any better than him.

All I can say is that I won't go to any other dentist in the Tri- State area but Zev.

His facilities are immaculate, his skills are cutting edge in dentistry, and his staff is professional and courteous.

There is no other dentist in the city for me. Not only did he help me with my implants and routine check ups, he removed a painful wisdom tooth in 3 minutes with zero pain.

Dr. Kaufman is an exceptional dentist. Not only did he do a phenomenal job on my top front implant, but also always made me feel comfortable. It is very difficult to match one front crown to the other teeth, and every time someone tells me I have a nice smile, I think of Dr. Kaufman.

I came to him distraught that I would have to remove one tooth and get an implant. He worked with me to get the look I desired at a reasonable price for cosmetic dentistry. He is a very patient and generous dentist that even after the crown was placed, met with me several times free of charge to get the right color and shape to pretty much perfection.

I used to be concerned about smiling and eating hard objects. Now I feel proud to smile and know that my implant is strong enough to eat whatever I want.

He is very professional but still makes you feel comfortable with his sense of humor and friendliness. I intended to visit a few dentists but after meeting him first, I knew I had made the right choice. Pricing, he is fairly reasonable for being one of the best cosmetic dentists in New York, and with this price you also get friendly visits and satisfaction that he will work with you until you have the desired look.

I rate him 10/10!

Dr Kaufman did my first implant while I was in dental school. He is the best. One of my faculty said "He is the fellow with the Golden Hands". No wonder I chose him to do my implant while we were both still in Dental School. Since then he has done two others, and then turned them into a three unit bridge when my root canal failed. An implant is so much better than a root canal!!! If it takes, it never fails!!! and it can be converted into something else if needed. I love Dr. Zev and the work he can do. He will be my dentist until my Special Care Residents need to take over!!

Background

I had an implant placed in December of 2006 by a periodontist in Hong Kong. This implant was placed at the time if extraction and was given 3 months to integrate. It failed and I was left with only a few options.

1.) Return to the same dentist 3 months later and have him place the implant again

2.) Seek out another dentist and continue treatment with them

I searched the internet prior to a business trip to NYC. I found Dr. Kaufman and read the many reviews or Dr. oogle. I decided to give him a try.

I am very pleased with the end result and how he managed my case. He is a very congenial individual and very professional. I always felt he placed me at the center of the process and never tried to up sell or convince me on a treatment plan that was contrary to what I wanted. He has a great office staff that is always quick in providing exceptional service.

The process of implantation was pain-free and a mean entirely pain free. He matched the tooth color perfectly which wasnt a trivial task as I have another crown on my front tooth.

Overall I would highly recommend Dr. Kaufman as the experience and end result were just as I had hoped.

After getting really frustrated going from dentist to dentist, I got to Dr Kaufman thanks to another well known dentist in New York that was honest enough to admit that my dental problems were getting too complicated and he could not help me. He told me that if Kaufman could not help you nobody else will.

Dr Kaufman diagnosis, although difficult to digest, made sense. I am one of those tough and demanding patients. It took me about 8 months to let him start my treatment.

He is a great dentist and a great psychologist. I think I might be the only patient that before getting dental work, got a few psychological sessions from him for free. He did not start any dental work until he felt I was ready. That meant a lot to me and since then it has been really easy. I enjoy going to the dentist now.

I am sure there are many good dentists around but I am also sure there are only a few that are exceptional. Doctor Kaufman is definitely exceptional. You always know when a professional really enjoys what he or she does and is willing to run that extra mile that is always required to be number one. I highly recommend Dr Kaufman. He will do whatever is necessary to ensure the success of your treatment.

I have known Zev Kaufman for over 2 years now. Over this time period, I have seen him handle many situations where I know other doctors would not have showed a quarter of the class he exhibited. He is not only an excellent and caring dentist, but an amazing person. His actions towards his friends and colleagues speaks volumes to the type of character he has. I have been a patient of Dr. Kaufman for about 12 years. I have followed him from New York to Brooklyn and then back to New York. I can't find a closer dentist who compares. He is both a perfectionist and a mensche!

He has done some difficult work in my mouth. And I am a fearful perfectionist patient. I have only been pleased with his work. He has met me off-hours to do emergency work when I have been in pain.

My son is coming up from North Carolina to NYC for dental care. Dr.Kaufman contacted us because my son has a genetic tooth defect ( he was born without enamel on all of his teeth). Dr. Kaufman was so concerned and wanted us to have the best care, even though he is not doing the work. He was wonderful to speak to us and guide us in the right direction. The fact that he took time out of his day to speak to strangers is astounding to me, because I could not even get our dentist in North Carolina on the phone when my son was in extreme pain. He has been in pain for three weeks now and it's pretty sad that we have to travel to NYC to get the kid out of misery. We will get to meet Dr. Kaufman because he told us to stop by and see him when we get to New York City. I hope he exists and is "real "because he sounds too good to be true.

Dr. Kaufman is unique. He loves being a dentist and takes much pride in his work. He explains everything he does as he does it. If you want to know the technical details, he gives them to you.

Most importantly, he does not do work that is not indicated. My son went to him with a problem for which two other dentists suggested different and extensive treatments. He suggested a modest, conservative approach which worked fine.

All professionals should be as professional as Dr. Kaufman

dr.kaufman placed 2 lower implants for me about a month ago and recently did a sinus lift and placed 3 upper implants. the procedure went perfectly. he explained everything which was very reassuring, and constantly asked how i was feeling. he has a wonderful bedside manner ,extremely caring.after the procedure of placing the three implants, it really was amazing there was very slight discomfort which was alleviated by taking just two tyenols. i highly recommend him for all implant procedures.

Dr. Kaufman has done an excellent job working on my implants. Furthermore, he has taken a personal interest in the process which is very re-assuring. He has an excellent chair-side manner and is always willing to take the extra time to effectively communicate his view on what action should be taken. When he feels uncomfortable w/ anything, he is pro-active about recommending other highly regarded doctors for 2nd opinions. At the end of the day, he is most concerned with achieving the best possible aesthetic result for the patient (w/ minimal pain). I would highly recommend him to my friends and family.

highly recommend. and I have been going to dentists since I was 4! I am now 58.....He works very efficiently. Had a tooth pulled in an emergency this week - and an implant prepared around it - and the other tooth that had decay.....walked out with no pain - an amazing bridge that seems like my regular teeth - over 3 teeth....including the space where I had my tooth pulled --- and went to my exercise class a half hour later. Never needed to even take an aspirin from pain ......all week. I totally trust him. He is an absolute perfectionist. and my mouth has never been in better shape.

When I stepped inside Dr. Kaufman's office I didn't think I would make it through alive! Of course it's painful when it comes to implants. Not with Dr. Kaufman! It was so painless,I felt like this was being done to me every day! His staff is very friendly,and I absolutely have no complaints about anything! Plus,while being treated,sit in a soft,comfortable chair. All this good service for an affordable price!

I do not recommend. The crowns I received did not fit properly. I told Dr. Kaufman that from the beginning, but he acted like there was something wrong with me and something I woulld have to get used too. He seemed very bragful.

a perfectionist. Never pain - and I am not brave...even when he gives a novacaine shot - you don't feel it! He's just starting out - so he does most of the work. My root canal dentist said that he never saw such beautiful work as his temps!!! so imagine what the finished product looks like. Office is new and state of the art...lovely people working there. no problems with billing to insurance etc. Highly recommend..He's a nice guy to boot!!

When I first arrived as Dr. Kaufman's patient, I was a nervous wreck.

He proceeded to show me his equipment (all new and totally up to date), I found this reassuring. His chair -side manner , his office staff and his ability to plan out a treatment for the following year put me at ease. Once the treatment began, 3 bone grafts, one implant, eight crowns, two extractions, I knew not to be apprehensive, it was so relaxing that I'm still in shock that its been an almost pleasant experience. MOST IMPORTANTLY, HE DID A FANTASTIC JOB AND MY TEETH ARE BEAUTIFUL. I smile now. Nothing to be ashamed of in my mouth.

Dr. Kaufman is an excellent prosthodontist. He has terrific training , is a faculty member at NYU Implant Clinic (which has a deservedly excellent rep), and is a real artisan. He is deeply interested in his work, is straightforward but reassuring (good chair-side manner) and the implants he did for me are widely admired. No problems afterward except what feel like brand new teeth that look like I was born with them He is expensive but not at the top end, I think. Anyway, good implant are expensive to have done. Dr. Kaufman REALLY knows what he is doing.

He mutilated my gums and totally messed up my crowns. My natural teeth were totally pushed out of position and my gums were completely cut off. It has been a nightmare since.
