Patient Review 1:

Dr. Kiissel had to do two emergency tooth implants three years ago. My dentist is a few floors above his office. He dropped what he was doing and wound up spending almost 7 hours with me doing these impllants and extrctions.I recenly had another implant done by Dr. Kissel. Aside from having an excellent bedside manner, he is extremely gentle and absolutely pain free....He is one of the few doctors using a microscopic procedure to do these implants.I would not hesitate recommending anyone to Dr. Kissle. He is a delight.

I just completed successful gum surgery with Dr. Kissel did a graft to cover deep recession that occurred in the molar. I had used him as well for the same surgery 10 years ago with good resuts. This time he performed the work microscopically and there was only minimal discomfort, and healing was speedy. He did a great job, and is also a very pleasant Doctor to deal with, as his staff.Though I hope I don't have to-he's the guy I'll call if I ever need a super periodontist.

Patient Review 3:

I have had periodontal problems for many years and have never had a good experience going to the dentist. When my dentist referred me to Dr. Kissel for surgery I was very nervous. On my first visit I was greeted by Martina who was very friendly and I immediately felt at ease. On the day of surgery I was seen promptly. Dr K explained what he was doing and was asking how I was doing during the procedure. He even called me later that evening to check on me! His assistant Kemba is very skilled and really works well with the doctor. Dr K used a microscope during the surgery and after it was completed I felt totally fine. If it were not for the few stiches I would forget I even had surgery. I have referred many friends, family and co-workers to him and no one has been disappointed. I come in every couple of months for a cleaning and I can honestly say I look forward to the visits. Miriam his hygienist is very good. She is very gentle but thorough, she never hurts me ( I have a lot of sensitive spots ). So if you ever have to go through any sort of periodontal care Dr Kissels office is the place to go. It is a very effecient, caring, professional office. I have never had as good an experience in any other medical or dental facility.

Patient Review 4:

Dear Dr. Kissel,I never, ever thought I would be writing to tell you that gettingimplants under your care was one of the easiest and least complicatedprocedures I could imagine. I came to your office with concern andtrepidation, and left smiling, with no pain, no swelling and norecovery time. Even with one of the implants requiring a substantialsinus lift and quite a few hours in your chair, the next day I wascompletely pain free and there was not even a trace of swelling. Idon't know how you do what you do, but it must either be magic, ormore likely, your exquisite training and diligent research thatallowed at least this patient to think that getting an implant istruly no big deal. I thank you for your talent and your good care.Best,Robin Janis

Patient Review 5:

Dr. Kissel expertly guided a 2 year project beginning with two extractions, bone grafting, followed by three implants, with additional bone grafting and finally gum trimming on both upper and lower jaws. It was done perfectly and I was able to return to work and had very little interruption in my life following each procedure. My teeth look beautiful and most importantly are healthy and function as they should. My implants were challenging as I did not have adequate bone to support them - all of which was addressed by Dr. Kissel.

Patient Review 6:

I had part of my palate grafted to my gums because of receding gums. Dr. Kissel's skills & technique are amazing & likely unparalleled. The surgery and recovery were completely, 100% pain-free. He uses special techniques so that even administering the novacaine was painless. The post-op discomfort was mild & totally tolerable, still much less than I expected. The results are phenomenal: no one knows it's a graft; the problem was completely solved; and at follow-up with my dentist, he & his staff complimented the results & were equally impressed. Friends & acquaintances who have had the same surgery from other doctors experienced pain & the results look like grafts. I'm still amazed I had no pain & the results look like regular, normal, healthy gums. Dr. Kissel is a great periodontist. His staff are friendly, skilled, and helpful professionals. The office is calming and has lovely urban views :) - a great place to be stuck in a chair for a few hours! But you really couldn't ask to be with better people throughout the entire process: consultation, surgery, & follow-up.
About Hygienist: Professional, highly skilled, friendly yet unobtrusive, calming. And the place is immaculate.

Patient Review 7:

The moment I walked into Dr. Kissel's office I felt I was in good hands. From our first greeting, Martina the receptionist, made me feel very relax and calm. My tooth had fractured and I was sent to Dr Kissel for a sinus lift and implants. Dr Kissel was very reassuring that my experience would be successful and with minimal discomfort. Using some type of microscope Dr Kissel was able to successfully pull out all the pieces of the tooth without damaging the sinus. He then continued to place two implants , bone and a sinus lift. Kemba, his assistant, did an excellent job of keeping everything clean and worked well with Dr Kissel as a team. That night I had no pain, very little swelling and the next night I went for dinner with my friends.I would recommend Dr Kissel, he is THE FINEST periodontist I ever used.

Patient Review 8:

Kissel is not your ordinary periodontist. He one of very few doctors in the U.S. who use a highly refined microscopic technique that is not only much less invasive, but also far faster and easier in healing and recovery. I was able to return to work the same day and experienced none of the discomfort that accompanied a prior surgery with another well-regarded New York periodontist. Kissel is great with patients and has a very organized and efficient office. There was never any waiting and the post-surgery follow up was excellent. I can't recommend periodontic surgery for fun, but if you need it, Dr. Kissel should be your choice.

Patient Review 11:

I had the best experience under Dr. Kissels care. I had an amalgam tattoo (black stain) removed from my front gum and received a bone and tooth implant. I received several not so promising opinions from other doctors before I found Dr. Kissel. He explained everything to me in detail, giving me the confidence and assurance I needed to go ahead with the procedures. I didnt experience any pain during or after my surgeries. Before meeting Dr. Kissel, I would smile without showing my teeth, if I smiled at all. Now after getting my custom temporary tooth made by him (I still need to get the permanent tooth) I cant stop smiling ear to ear. Its amazing how the simple act of smiling without feeling self-conscious can be so liberating - it doesnt get much better than that for me! Thank you Dr. Kissel!

Patient Review 13:

I came to Dr. Kissel after giving up hope of ever repairing the noticeable tissue loss above my front tooth. In fact, prior to seeing Dr. Kissel I visited several specialists and spent thousands of dollars over five years in gum replacement and other treatments, including laser treatment all to no avail. I was very self conscious about smiling and developed habits to distract people from looking at my teeth. My smile was very upsetting to me and over time it affected my self esteem. Thanks to Dr. Kissel's research, creativity and patience he was able to alter the implant, install an unconventional temporary cap and with surgery he was able to repair the gum loss. My treatment is not complete but I can't stop smiling.

My wife and I were referred to Dr Kissell when we both needed extractions and implants. My wife is a physician and has very high standards personally and professionally. She has always said Dr. Kissel has 'magic' hands because of his skill and effectiveness. He manages to do such fine and efficient surgery that the results are painless and exquisite. He has such good humor and is so concerned with your care that his modesty belies his excellence. I was just happy to find out there was a place to share my experience and offer some praise for his excellence.

Patient Review 15:

Two weeks ago, I saw Dr. Kissel for the first time after my dentist referred me to him for an evaluation of my gums. One week ago, Dr. Kissel performed a gum graft on my lower jaw. If it were not for the fact that my tongue could detect some very tiny sutures in my mouth, I would never have known that periodontal surgery was performed on me. At no time during the surgery or since the surgery did I experience any discomfort whatsoever. I've had haircuts that were more painful and traumatic than my gum graft! Dr. Kissel has an extremely warm personality, is very reassuring, thorough in the explanation of his treatments and the treatments themselves, and he is quite obviously one of the most--if not THE most--gifted and talented periodontists his profession has seen. Dr. Kissel's star qualities are mirrored in his kind and gracious staff. His office manager Martina is super-efficient and charming, and his assistant Kimba is delightful and knows her work well. I just left Dr. Kissel's office after a brief follow-up visit and before heading back to my office made a quick detour to my dentist's office to thank him for recommending Dr. Kissel to me. It is BY FAR and without question the best medical experience I have ever had.

Patient Review 17:

I have worked with Dr. Kissel for 4 years during which time he has performed major periodontal work on my mouth. I have never liked going to the dentist, so I was quite nervous about having gum replacement surgery (I had extensive damage to my gums). But I can't say enough good things about my experience with Dr. Kissel and his team. First of all, Dr. Kissel is a perfectionist. The work he did on my mouth was superb and I am very happy with the results. He also provides excellent patient care. Every time I have a procedure, I get a call from Dr. Kissel that evening to make sure that I am comfortable and I don't have questions or concerns. He genuinely cares about his patients and it shows in the work he does.Anyone who has had major dental work knows that it's often a long, drawn out battle with one's insurance company. Dr. Kissel wrote letters to my insurance co. detailing my procedures to insure that I received the maximum benefit. Normally I would have to chase down a doctor to make sure this was done, but Martina, Dr. Kissel's office manager, is prompt and efficient. She keeps the office running smoothly and she stayed on top of my insurance company. Thank you Dr. Kissel and team!!

Patient Review 18:

Dr. Kissel did a remarkable job of saving my tooth from extraction. My regular dentist was convinced that I would lose the tooth and would need a dental implant but Dr. Kissel was able to save my tooth and prepare it for use in a bridge. My regular dentist pronounced the work "awesome". In addition to the quality of the work, Dr. Kissel displayed a sincere investment in helping me and a concern, particularly during the procedure, about how I was tolerating the procedure. Although I did undergo oral surgery, I had no subsequent pain and no subsequent problem with the work done. I asked Dr. Kissel for a "miracle" and got it.
About Hygienist: Dr. Kissel's hygienist was also excellent. She was clearly competent and was kind and caring in her attitude toward me.

I found Dr Kissel online after having two failed tissue grafts performed by another periodontist. Dr Kissel was able to reconstruct the damaged area beautifully. If he could fix that mess- I think he can do almost anything. I then had another set of grafts done. His techniques produce great results with the absolute minimum of discomfort. Martina, the office manager, is also fantastic- she runs a well organized office and handled all the insurance submissions. For tissue grafts I would not go elsewhere. I think the costs are comparable to other periodontists.

I have always had a fear of visiting a dentist eventhough there were never any problems. Having sensitive gums always made a simple cleaning very painful. The thought of having to experience tissue grafting was quite scary for me. During my visit with Dr. Kissel, only one small area was grafted. I never experienced any pain or discomfort. When I was told that I needed to come back for additional grafting to correct a much larger area than the first, I was actually looking foward to making any improvements that Dr. Kissel felt necessary. Today I am still amazed that I did not experience any pain or discomfort from each of the two visits.

Patient Review 25:

In 1992, I was involved in a traumatic car accident where I lost all my teeth due to breaking the steering wheel with my jaw & luckily that DDS was able to surgically reimplant all my teeth! 15 years later, my 4 bottom front teeth began to turn hollow & pink. My teeth had necrosed from nursing my son & I needed to do something fast. My dentist referred me to Dr. Kissel & I thought he was wonderful! He explained everything to me & he was very honest about best/worse case scenerio & cost. I had to decide if I was to remove 2 teeth or all 4 bottom teeth & do implants or a bridge. After weeks of struggling, I decided to remove 2 teeth & root canal the other 2 teeth. I decided on the implants because all the doctors felt I would get the best long term results with them. After several surgeries to remove the teeth, rebuild new bone in my jaw, place the implants & finally have crowns put on...I couldn't be happier that I went with the implants! Although expensive, it was so worth it! It feels just like my real teeth, especially since I can floss them & I can eat apples & corn again after 15 years! I think Dr. Kissel is wonderfully talented & really performs miracles. I am grateful that I found him!

The office is clean and contemporary. The equipment is state-of-the-art. He trains regularly to be aware of new developments. His assistant Kemba is so likable and sympathetic. Martina runs a highly efficient office and is also very pleasant. From top to bottom my experience with Dr. Kissel was excellent. My general dentist said that I needed an implant for my top front tooth, a highly aesthetic region, and he recommended Dr. Kissel. I was told he was an "artist," and I couldn't agree more. The receptionist (Martina) is the first smile you see, and she masters the balance of being professional and personable. She made sure I knew what was going on as far as my insurance goes, and was totally cooperative even when my insurance company wasn't! She knows me by name and is a comforting presence every time I go there. The real beauty of this company, though, is the man himself, Dr. Scott Kissel. He is one of those rare dentists who can tell you what's wrong and how he's going to fix it in a way that you can understand. Add to that the fact that he is so incredibly nice! On the rare occasion I felt pain, I almost felt guilty for wincing because I knew he had only the best intentions. In the end, my implant looks flawless. The alignment is spot on, and my gum line looks completely natural. He spent the time to make sure everything was perfect, and now I can live my life knowing I still have my great smile. Thank you, Dr. Kissel!

Top notch dentist on all dimensions that matter. Went to Dr. Kissell after terrible experience with another periodontist, and the difference could not have been more extremeMicro-surgery for bone implant and gum graft was relatively painless and quick for recovery time --- both in an absolute sense and comparatively for the latter procedure given that it was a repeat of a procedure performed poorly elsewhereDr's demeanor is friendly and was very responsive to both an after-hours call and an unscheduled drop-in to check on my healingOffice staff is very professional and expedient in dealing with insuranceI strongly recommend Dr. Kissel and his team for anyone seeking a periodontist
