Dr. Justin was referred to me by a family member after i was tired of commuting out of the city to visit my childhood dentist. I had a few cavities in my early teens and after 20-plus years, it was time to replace the silver fillings with inlays, crowns and a root canal to boot....good times!!! . Nobody likes to spend hours in a dentist chair but the process was smooth. No discomfort and great results. Wasn't the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. You only get one set of teeth so it is important to take care of them as best as you can. I visit the office 2-3 times a year to have my teeth cleaned, gums checked, etc. and the hygienist, Jen, is great. Everyone is professional, curteous, and on their game. They are always available to answer questions and/or help out whenever I call the office. Highly recommended.

I couldn't imagine a more thoughtful or talented dentist than Dr. Justin Boyd. Dr. Boyd and his staff did everything possible to make the replacement of my veneers -- a long and many-stepped process -- as comfortable and pleasant as possible. From accommodating my busy schedule when booking appointments to post-procedure phone calls just to "check in", I felt very well taken care of.

As a dentist, I was extremely impressed by Dr. Boyd's thoughtful approach and obvious skills. He took a great deal of time not only to explain the veneer replacement procedure, which greatly alleviated my high level of anxiety, but also to understand exactly how I wanted my teeth to ultimately look. And I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Dr. Boyd exactly crafted the smile I'd hoped for. He is the rare dentist who understands that excellent work is only half of the equation; the other half is a "chair-side" manner that protects patients from undue anxiety and unexpected or unwanted results. I highly recommend Dr. Boyd to the most hesitant of dentist-goers. He is simply the best.

About Hygienist: I found the dental hygienist to be very thorough yet cautious. Although my teeth felt very clean, I did not leave with the sensation that my gums had been sacrificed to achieve this result. She was both courteous and professional and I enjoyed my experience -- something I never thought I'd say about having my teeth cleaned.

I started out going to one of the older members of the Boyd-family practice about 18 years ago. I was always happy with the care I received, but about 6 or 7 years ago, I switched to Dr. Justin. I liked the idea that he was younger, and perhaps a little more "up" on the latest technologies. In my view, he is fantastic. I have had a lot of dental work done over many years --root canals, implants, bridges and caps, etc. The work he has done has always been 100% successful. He always takes as much time as needed for a procedure -- it never feels rushed. He is very personable, and frequently calls to see how things are later. I am never kept waiting for an appointment, and he is always available in an emergency. Overall, I think he has a great balance of knowledge, experience and chair-side manners/personality, and you get the combined benefit of many years of experience within the family group for very complex procedures. The cost isn't cheap, but you get what you pay for! The office staff is very friendly and handles insurance paperwork seamlessly. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a dentist.

I have been going to this family practice for the last 35 years. I have the utmost confidence in Drs. Boyds' experience, knowledge and concern for their patients.

The front office staff is the best in any business office I deal with. They are helpful, sympathetic, and provide follow up with insurance, billing and appointments. We are happy to travel over one hour from CT to the Boyds' NYC office for our treatments.

Dr. Justin Boyd did a teeth whitening procedure for my wife and me18 months ago which was exceptionally great. Friends and family have noticed the difference and have asked who did it. We looked so good that my 85 year old mother-in-law was motivated to visit Dr. Justin Boyd to have the procedure done.

My wife and daughter are attended by Dr. Justin Boyd for all their dental needs as well. He has done simple and complicated procedures that are long lasting, and we are satisfied that his preventative care will keep our teeth healthy for a long time. The practice is always available for emergency procedures.

As for pain, I have never needed pain management procedures with the Boyds. I highly recommend this practice, and I hope to continue to be their patient for another 35 years - at least.

About Hygienist: I have regularly and exclusively used the Boyds' Hygienist service. The appointments are always on time; the Hygienists are well trained and know how to avoid painful pokes to the gums. Cleanings are sometimes so stress-free that I it is hard not to fall asleep in the chair.

I, like many others, have a fear of going to the dentist. Since I have moved to New York, however, I have been going to Dr. Justin Boyd and can honestly say he is the best dentist that I have ever been to. He has taken the fear out of the practice.

Dr. Justin is extremely knowledgeable and really takes his time working with you and is willing to explain the procedure to you if you request it. He and his staff have been nothing short of professional, kind and welcoming. I was quite dentalphobic before going to see Dr. Boyd, and I needed quite a bit of work. They were extremely accomodating and understanding about my anxieties, and took that into account during the treatment. I never felt any judgement. They were great. And it's hard for me to believe, but now I got there and just listen to my Ipod and have the work done -- without any special nitrous oxide or other special treatments to calm me down. It's fantastic. I no longer think of myself as dentalphobic.
